Reed Accountancy are currently partnered with a local client who are seeking a Global Foundation Accountant to join their existing team and support the organisation across a number of countries. This role is crucial for providing accurate financial information, ensuring data integrity, and supporting the growth of further Foundations worldwide. The ideal candidate will have an intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, and experience in the charity sector.

Day-to-day duties as Global Foundation Accountant:

  • Conduct regular reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, to ensure data integrity.
  • Handle Foundation membership invoicing and related queries.
  • Update ZOHO to reflect invoiced/paid amounts in line with the finance system.
  • Manage webshop income, reconciling payments, and raising receipts/invoices as necessary.
  • Process retention invoices in line with grant periods and maintain the purchase ledger.
  • Ensure month-end books are reconciled within the agreed timetable.
  • Liaise with the Foundations Administrator to answer queries regarding received monies.
  • Prepare member grant reports and statements for quarterly Board approval and issuance.
  • Deliver internal financial reports, including periodic profit and loss and retention reports.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory financial requirements, liaising with external parties as needed.
  • Resolve finance and accounting queries from internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
  • Authorise the payment of grants and support Executive Directors in finance system usage.
  • Undertake grant reconciliations to the in-house CRM system and update it accordingly.
  • Facilitate financial statements for in-country regulations and ensure filing deadlines are met.
  • Participate in strategic planning for existing and future Foundation growth.
  • Maintain accurate records on ShareFile and engage with social media and marketing as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Accountant qualification, with charity experience preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong interest in the charity sector worldwide.
  • Experience with CRM systems.
  • Exceptionally self-motivated and able to quickly adapt to new tasks.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Capable of prioritising workloads to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Comfortable working with a global team and engaging in occasional out-of-hours communication.
