Accounts Assistant

Crawley (Hybrid Working)

Up to £35,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Finance Manager in managing day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Processing invoices, payments, and receipts in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Reconciling bank statements and handling discrepancies.
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and preparing reports.
  • Handling queries related to accounts and providing customer support where necessary.
  • Supporting with VAT returns and other tax-related tasks.
  • Assisting with payroll processing as required.
  • General administrative support to the finance team.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero).
  • Excellent MS Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • AAT qualification (or working towards) is preferred but not essential
