Job Overview:

Our client is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in the field. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in ground investigations, including trial holes and drilling, and be capable of managing site work independently with minimal supervision. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects across London and Crawley.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ground Investigation: Conducting detailed ground investigations including trial holes, drilling, and sampling.
  • Site Supervision: Overseeing and ensuring that ground investigation works are carried out in accordance with industry standards, with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: Managing site data collection, including logging boreholes and geotechnical data, and preparing technical reports.
  • Client Liaison: Communicating effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth site operations.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensuring all fieldwork is performed in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Problem Solving: Identifying potential issues during ground investigations and providing practical solutions.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in geotechnical engineering, specifically within ground investigation.
  • Experience of trial holes and drilling operations, with a solid understanding of geotechnical fieldwork practices.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage sites with minimal supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of geotechnical field testing and logging procedures.
  • Full understanding of health and safety regulations on construction sites.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills.
  • Valid driving license (required for site-based travel).
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with Geotechnical Software (e.g., gINT, HoleBASE).
  • Relevant engineering degree (e.g., Civil, Geotechnical Engineering).
  • Previous experience in site management or supervisory roles.
