About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Construction Site Manager to oversee a key project in Crawley, West Sussex. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You will need a main contractor background who can look at all aspects of building works. This is a temporary contract lasting 14-18 weeks, with the possibility of extension depending on project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the construction site, ensuring all activities comply with health and safety regulations.
- Manage site staff, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor the project schedule, identifying any potential delays and addressing them proactively.
- Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the project meets requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings, providing updates to senior management.
- Ensure quality standards are met and maintained throughout the construction process.
- Manage the site budget, ordering materials and resources as necessary.
- Resolve any site issues promptly and effectively, maintaining a productive working environment.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or similar role within the construction industry.
- A valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate is essential.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to enforce them on site.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in the use of construction management software and MS Office.
- CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card holder.
- First Aid certification is desirable.
