Mechanical Design Engineer
Orion is working with a food company that was founded over 50 years ago. They specialise in manufacturing various special-purpose equipment, conveyors, and injection machines. Due to an extended period of growth, they are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team.
About the Mechanical Design Role
In this role, you'll be tasked with designing bespoke machinery and materials handling equipment from concept through to installation. You'll also have the opportunity to work with some exciting blue-chip companies across the food, pharmaceutical, and logistics sectors. You will not be working on the same thing daily, so no two jobs are the same.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:
- Design bespoke automated machinery using Inventor.
- Work closely with the mechanical and electrical design on design and manufacturing.
- Provide design assistance to manufacturing, sales, and R&D departments.
- Transmit complete Bills of Materials for project support.
A successful Mechanical Design Engineer will need:
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD systems
- Experience of the Full Product Life Cycle
- Experience designing machinery, heavy equipment or moving parts design
- Understanding of British Manufacturing Standards (desirable)
