Reed Education are supporting a beautiful school based in Smallfield who are looking for a bright & talented individual to join their dedicated team as a Teaching Assistant, where the school provide a nurturing environment for students aged 7-11 with communication and social interaction difficulties, typically associated with Autism. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on their students’ lives and their families.
Day-to-day of the role:- Establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with pupils to help them feel safe and enjoy their learning experience.
- Promote and encourage independence and personal development.
- Support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day-to-day running of the class.
- Adapt to the varying and changing needs of the school and undertake any necessary tasks to ensure smooth operations.
- Occasionally provide physical intervention, with full training provided.
- Promote pupils’ cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being.
- GCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential.
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Experience of working in a special school environment is highly desirable.
