Teaching Assistant - Crawley

Academics is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Crawley. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students in their learning and development while gaining valuable experience in the education sector.

Role Overview:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and students, providing classroom support and helping to create an engaging learning environment. You will be assigned to work with up to three children in a 1:1 or small group setting, supporting their academic progress, social skills, and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support, ensuring students remain engaged and motivated.

  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons, adapting materials to meet individual learning needs.

  • Encourage students to develop independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.

  • Support student's social and emotional well-being in a nurturing environment.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to create a positive learning atmosphere.

What We're Looking For:
  • Experience working with children or young people (preferred but not essential).

  • A patient, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (the school is not easily accessible by public transport).

  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
