Job Title:Senior Electronic Design Engineer

Location: Crawley, West Sussex (on-site working)

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

1.Circuit Design and PCB Technology: The candidate will be responsible for producing circuit designs, selecting components, and developing PCB technology. This includes working in specialized areas such as electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), power management, servo control, processor interfacing, and communications.


Electrical System Design: The role involves designing power and signal systems, which includes creating the overall architecture, managing power flow, and system wiring, as well as possessing knowledge of various production processes.

Setting Engineering Standards: The individual is expected to establish and uphold standards of good engineering practice, positioning themselves as an expert or aspiring expert within the organization.

Process Improvement: The candidate should actively suggest and implement improvements to departmental processes and practices, fostering a culture of innovation in all aspects of work.

Communication: Effective communication with senior engineers and technical leads is essential, including the ability to brief senior managers or customers on relevant topics.

Technology Development: The role requires taking an active part in developing or enhancing technology within the business by cultivating subject matter expertise and applying this knowledge to research and development (R&D) activities or projects.

Technical Leadership: The candidate will assume technical leadership for multi-disciplinary projects, particularly focusing on key sub-assemblies, ensuring a systematic approach to providing solutions for customers.

Mentorship: The individual will help lead and support less experienced engineers, providing mentorship in areas such as development oversight, training, and support.

This position demands a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a proactive approach to innovation and collaboration within a team environment.


Qualifications:

  • A good degree in a relevant subject (Electronics/Science/Engineering or equivalent), and a minimum of 5 years hands-on engineering experience.
