Job Title: Service Technician Location: CrawleyEmployment Type: Permanent / ContractSalary: £40 - 45K basicShift:In House Hours: Mon - Fri 08:00 - 16:30.****World Wide Travel****Job DescriptionThis position is ideally suited to those with experience of full-time field service work, who like a role with worldwide travel. Trips are usually between 1-5 days longYou will be given comprehensive training in Production to gain knowledge of components, assembly (electrical/electronic and mechanical), repairs and refurbishments, product testing, analysis and fault finding skills.You will then accompany other experienced Service Technicians on installation and service jobs on site at customer premises.Once a sufficient level of competency has been gained you will go to site unaccompanied to carry out the full range of tasks. Field Service WorkInstallation of electro-mechanical industrial equipment predominantly on to printing presses - both as new and retrofit equipmentCommissioning the range of our products, recording the required measurements.Test the equipment to satisfy the customer’s requirements and provide operator training.Customer/OEM/Distributor/staff training as required from time to time, both in house and on site in the UK and worldwide.Service and repair of existing systems.Gaining experience and building up knowledge of printing applications and the factors affecting curing.Travel in the UK and overseas worldwide working mostly alone but with support from the in-house service team.In House DutiesWhen you are at Crawley you may be requested to do any of the following duties:Assembly skillsLight mechanical & electrical/electronic assemblyRepair and refurbishment of components as required.Test skillsSetting up the systems for test - assembling the mechanical and electrical /electronic components/assemblies.Measuring & recording information using a variety of instruments including air pressure, temperature, voltage, current, UV sensors following the quality test checks.Calibration of curing systems within the control specification and tolerances.Analysis and fault-finding skills as appropriate.Essential Qualifications / Skills: Electrical Engineering City & Guilds level 1&2&3 or HNC/HND and/or 17th/18th edition, or electrical degree.Extensive recent experience of 3 phase industrial environments.Recent experience working in a field service role (could involve: commissioning, service breakdowns, installations, warranty visits etc.)Previous experience travelling for work.Must be computer literate.Must speak clear fluent EnglishMust be free to travel worldwide with no restrictionsMust have a current manual full driving licence with no more than 3 points on.Beneficial Qualifications / Skills:Knowledge of PCBs & PLCs (up-loading of programmes and interrogation of fault record for trouble shooting).European language ability (in addition to English)TPA are a specialist recruitment agency recruiting on behalf of our client.If you think you are a close fit for this position, please do apply and we will also register you for any upcoming positions that may be suitable.
