This is a career defining move for an ambitious Tax Lead who is looking for a organisation that they are able to grow and progress within. This is a role that will allow you to develop your technical knowledge as well as your interpersonal and leadership skills.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, possesses strong organisational skills, is detail-oriented, possesses a knowledge of IFRS-IAS 12 and a strong knowledge of the tax law applicable to UK and Europe. The working environment is dynamic, and daily tasks include a variety of tax duties. Key responsibilities:

  • Manage local tax provisions (prepare/review/analyse) and participate in the global tax compliance processes.
  • Present to tax team the conclusion and results of the quarterly tax provisions for all the countries under scope
  • Special project: Actively participate in the review of the global tax provision reporting processes to optimise it and participate in the implementation of new processes to mitigate tax risks
  • Coordinate timely tax compliance (tax provision, tax returns and true-up/book-to-tax)
  • Apply IFRS (IAS12 and IFRS34) to the tax provisions
  • Responsible for relationships with sites for quarterly tax reporting
  • Responsible for processes in place (SOX controls) surrounding tax compliance for tax provisions and tax returns
  • Responsible for transfers to sites of tax entries recorded at the consolidated level (pushdowns) and bridges to local GAAP
  • Reconcile effective tax rates by identifying permanent differences
  • Review and analyse the continuity of current and future tax accounts
  • Prepare the reconciliation between the tax provision and the previous year's tax return ("true-up / BTT")
  • Analyse accounting information to identify the appropriate tax treatment on transactions
  • Analyse notices of assessment received for foreign entities to identify potential risks to be considered in the consolidated tax provision
  • Participate to various special projects related to tax law changes and improvements to tax

What you need:

  • Training in taxation
  • knowledge of the accounting standards (IFRS)
  • Excellent knowledge of the concepts surrounding tax provisions (permanent differences, temporary differences)
  • Extensive experience corporate tax compliance, including 2 years in accounting
  • An accounting designation is an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
