Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Reach Forklift Operator to join our client's team in Crawley. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to efficiently move, load, and unload goods within our warehouse environment. This role requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
Location: Crawley
Salary: 26,000
Hours: 07:00am to 16:00pm
Duties
- Operate reach and counterbalance forklifts and other material handling equipment to load and unload goods from lorries and storage areas.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials as required, ensuring proper handling techniques are used.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and report any maintenance needs.
- Utilise basic maths skills for accurate inventory management and materials handling.
- Maintain an organised work area, adhering to all safety protocols and warehouse management systems.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring all items are accounted for and properly stored.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs when necessary.
- Familiarity with materials handling processes and warehouse management systems is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods while operating machinery.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining safety standards at all times.
- Up to date reach and counterbalance forklift required
