This is a permanent full time role based at our Crawley, West Sussex location where youll support managers and staff across all business functions. Working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with typical working hours from 8am to 4:30pm, you will report to the Head of HR based at our Head Office in Crawley, West Sussex. With an option to work from home for up to two days a week subject to business needs, this role will involve working closely with the HR Business Partner based at Castleford, West Yorkshire to ensure alignment and consistency in HR practices across the company. An immediate start is available.

Your day to day primary responsibilities:

1. Employee Relations:

  • Provide advice and support to managers and employees on HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist managers on employee grievances, disciplinary and capability issues in accordance with company policies, including preparation of meeting invites and note taking.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and promote a harmonious workplace.
  • Collaborate with the HR Business Partner at the Castleford location to ensure consistent handling of employee relations issues.

2. Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Assist in the recruitment process, including drafting job descriptions, posting job ads through HRIS, conducting interviews, and making job offers.
  • Carry out reference requests, right to work checks, and DBS checks as required.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
  • Work with the HR Business Partner at the Castleford location to align recruitment strategies and processes.
  • Manage onboarding process for all new starters in the Crawley location.

3. Performance Management:

  • Support managers in the performance appraisal process.
  • Provide guidance on setting performance objectives and development plans.
  • Monitor and report on employee performance and development.
  • Ensure performance management practices are consistent across locations by collaborating with the HR Business Partner at the Castleford location.

4. Training and Development:

  • Identify individual and organisational training needs and coordinate training programs.
  • Create and deliver engaging flexible learning courses and workshops with fit for purpose and relevant content.
  • Support the implementation of development initiatives to enhance employee skills and career progression.
  • Align training and development initiatives with the HR Business Partner at the Castleford location.

5. HR Administration:

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
  • Prepare HR reports and metrics for Head of HRs review.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
  • Share best practices and collaborate and liaise on HR administration tasks with the HR Business Partner based at the Castleford location.
  • Manage off-boarding process for leavers.
  • Assist with monthly employee forum meetings including invites and presenting feedback.

6. Payroll and employee benefits administration:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly payroll reports and payroll schedule.
  • Manage employee benefits, including administration of benefit provider systems.

7. Policy Implementation:

  • Assist the Head of HR in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all staff are aware of and adhere to company policies.
  • Work with the HR Business Partner at the Castleford location to ensure policies are consistently applied across locations.

8. Health and Safety:

  • Support the implementation of health and safety policies.
  • Ensure a safe working environment in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Coordinate with the HR Business Partner at the Castleford location on health and safety initiatives
  • Set up and manage Astute log in and assigning mandatory training for all new starters in the Crawley location.

The role will require visiting other company locations. There will be a requirement to support with the planning and organising of company events as required.


Skills, Experience and Qualities

  • CIPD qualification or equivalent demonstrable HR knowledge.
  • 3 years proven experience as an HR Advisor or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in HRIS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented, with conflict management skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communicator, both oral and written.
  • Active listening skills, and able to develop and maintain open, honest and constructive relationships with empathy and sensitivity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Creative, with ability to think logically.


What will we offer?

We will offer a salary in the range of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, 33 days holiday inclusive of bank and public holidays.
