Reed HR are excited to partner with one of our key clients in East Grinstead, who is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join their established HR team.As an HR Advisor, you will provide comprehensive HR support across multiple sites in Sussex, ensuring effective employee relations, compliance with employment law, and the promotion of inclusive employment practices.You will support a diverse workforce, including both operational and office-based employees, and play a key role in managing employee relations cases.Our client values flexible working, offering a hybrid working week with an equal split between home and office, along with flexible working hours.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Employee Relations Case Management:
    • Guide and support managers in handling ER matters such as disciplinary actions, grievances, absence management, and performance improvement.
    • Conduct investigations, attend hearings, and ensure outcomes are fair and legally compliant.
    • Maintain accurate records of all ER cases and track trends to inform proactive HR interventions.
  • Workforce Support and Engagement:
    • Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers, offering advice on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
    • Promote a positive working environment through effective engagement initiatives and employee feedback mechanisms.
    • Support recruitment, retention activities, occupational health reviews, and change management initiatives.
  • Supported Employment & Diversity Initiatives:
    • Facilitate the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing employment of individuals with disabilities.
    • Work closely with external organisations and government schemes to support employment programmes.
    • Advocate for an inclusive and diverse workplace culture through training and policy development.
  • Policy & Compliance:
    • Ensure HR policies are up-to-date, legally compliant, and effectively communicated across all sites.
    • Assist with audits and reporting requirements as necessary.
  • Learning & Development:
    • Provide guidance and coaching to improve management skills and HR knowledge.
    • Support the design and delivery of HR-related training.
  • HR Administration & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with data protection laws.
    • Generate reports and analyse HR data to inform decision-making and identify trends.
    • Coordinate new joiner administration including induction.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of employment law and best HR practices.
  • Proven experience in managing complex ER cases.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • High attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards) or equivalent HR experience.
  • Experience in a similar operational environment is preferable.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel between sites as required.
