What you'll be doing:

The role of the Asset Management and Cloud FinOps Lead is to manage, control and protect the organisation’s IT assets (hardware, software, and licencing) throughout their entire lifecycle, from acquisition through final disposition, and to manage Cloud Consumption budgets, collate and track Cloud expenditure and monitor Cloud spend against forecast to ensure we remain within allocated funds. The role holder is required to proactively analyse and interpret data and highlight risks or opportunities and to operate within the function’s processes and standard operating procedures and actively contribute to the running of the Cloud Governance Committee.

This is an evolved role for Peoples Partnership as we move our in-house applications to the Microsoft Azure cloud and take a modern approach to bringing Cloud FinOps and traditional IT Asset Management together to provide a seamless and comprehensive view of technology infrastructure and expense.

  • Identify and drive cloud cost optimisation and saving recommendations across the organisation
  • Implement and operate tools and systems to measure and report on Cloud Consumption
  • Produce insightful reports that can be shared with and actioned by the Cloud Governance Committee
  • Plan, implement and own the IT hardware, software, and licencing of assets.
  • Ensure an Asset register is maintained and up to date capturing all IT Asset related data.
  • Carry out regular IT asset audits to ensure that all IT assets are accurately recorded

What we’re looking for:

  • Solid understand and experience of Cloud FinOps
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent relationship management skills. Ability to establish strong working relationships with IT, business and other stakeholders
  • Management of documentation for IT Asset and procurement processes, policies, and workflows
  • Asset and procurement life cycle strategy development
  • ITIL qualified &/or experienced
  • Proven experience using Azure based tools and reporting capabilities to review and provide MI related to run costs, actual and projection.
  • Excellent understanding of the Azure Advisor to assess and make recommendations to assist with cost reductions.
  • Knowledge of Azure features, technologies, and licensing models to support cost reduction recommendations.
