We are seeking an experienced Principal Consultant - Linux & Automation to take a leadership role in defining, designing, and delivering advanced Linux-based automation solutions for a client in Werst Sussex. This role will be hybrid working. They offer a competitive starting salary of £65k-£100k, alongside excellent benefits, including a very good bonus of 10-30%,, 29 days holiday (progressing 1 day per year up to 33), medical and dental coverage, and more.
This role is perfect for Linux experts with a passion for architecture, strategic leadership, and business development, who are eager to deliver impactful solutions while mentoring the next generation of technical professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architectural Oversight: Provide architectural direction for all Linux and automation projects, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with client objectives and industry standards.
- Strategic Leadership: Shape and implement the strategic vision for the Linux & Automation practice, adapting to emerging market trends and aligning with broader business goals.
- Business Development: Identify growth opportunities, craft strategic proposals, and secure client engagements to expand the Linux & Automation practice.
- Project Leadership: Oversee the successful delivery of large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring they meet client requirements, timelines, and budgets.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with leaders across service lines, including cloud (AWS), virtualisation (Nutanix), networking, and storage, to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Thought Leadership: Represent the organisation at industry events, publish technical insights, and influence best practices both internally and within the wider industry.
- Mentorship & Team Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to senior consultants and team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth while addressing complex technical challenges.
What We're Looking For:
- Deep expertise in Linux system administration, scripting (Bash, Perl, Python), and Zabbix monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible, and version control systems like Git.
- Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale Linux and automation projects.
- Strong client-facing skills with the ability to build and maintain trust-based relationships.
- Business development experience, including crafting proposals and securing client engagements.
- Experience mentoring and leading teams, with a focus on professional development.
- Familiarity with cross-functional domains such as cloud (AWS), virtualisation (Nutanix), and storage.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to solving complex technical challenges.
