We are seeking skilled and experiencedContract Mechanical Fittersto join a dynamic team supporting the manufacturing and assembly of bespoke test and assembly machines for the automotive and manufacturing industries. Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to address design changes and resolve issues effectively.
  • Assemble and build special-purpose assembly and test machines to a high standard, ensuring budget compliance.
  • Report progress and challenges to supervisors, providing support as required.
  • Assist with machine power-on and support software commissioning engineers during the testing phase.

Experience Required:

Core Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of engineering adhesives, sealants, lubricants, and standard locking and dowelling systems.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Proven experience in mechanical fitting, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and fault identification.

Preferred Expertise:

  • Background in the machine tool build process, including using tools and equipment to construct machinery from technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with machining processes, such as turning, drilling, reaming, surface grinding, welding, gas cutting, and fabrication.
  • Competence in workshop practices and skilled in using lifting equipment, including slings and cranes, with a strong emphasis on safety.
  • Proficiency in handling pipe fittings, both parallel and tapered, with the ability to mount and pipe hydraulic and pneumatic circuit elements using hard and soft pipes.

Industry Experience:

  • Experience in theautomotive industryis highly advantageous.
  • Previous work withconveyors or automation systemsis essential.
