You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis,and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £26,451 - £28,907 per annum plus £610.08 Crawley Weighting Allowance (if based at Crawley College).

The Group Communications Officer role:

As our Group Communications Officer, you will play a crucial role in shaping our colleges’ stories and celebrating our students’ achievements.Your responsibilities will include developing compelling media releases, case studies, and editorial content that resonate with our diverse audiences. You’ll also be at the forefront of our digital presence, creating and sharing content across various platforms and social media channels.

Key Responsibilities of ourGroup Communications Officer:

  • Establish a detailed knowledge of the Group’s audiences, markets and courses and develop content to raise awareness and engage with students, stakeholders and employers
  • Maintain an awareness of course programmes, events and the college calendar and maximise the promotional opportunities that arise from these opportunities
  • Supporting the Group PR & Communications Manager in the planning, development and distribution of external communications
  • Work independently with curriculum, support departments, the Students’ Union and students to proactively seek out, research and create content from good news and success stories, student activities, course highlights and high-profile events
  • Draft news articles, case studies, assemble media packages and prepare content for a range of external channels, ensuring CCG’s brand and tone of voice is delivered consistently
  • Create engaging content to sustain audience engagement, increase audience reach and encourage audience participation
  • Support the Communications Team to build the alumni network and to create associated content to help improve student recruitment.
  • Develop original and engaging video content and suggest creative ways to attract more customers and expand the audience reach
  • Manage the news sections across all college websites, keeping pages updated and relevant
  • Attend internal and external events to gather content or support the team to promote the college to prospective students

Our ideal Group Communications Officer should have the below skills and experience:

  • A talented communicator with a knack for crafting engaging content
  • Level 3 qualification(s) in related subject(s) e.g. Communications, Media, English
  • Degree or a professional qualification in related subject (eg Communications, Media), or willingness to undertake a relevant qualification or relevant industry experience
  • Proven copywriting experience
  • Experience in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues
  • Experience in working independently and dealing with unforeseen problems and circumstances
  • Experience in developing media releases, case studies, and editorial pieces
  • Proficiency in creating digital content, including video, and using social media in a professional environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
