I am currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join a professional, family feel contractor. They operate across Cladding & Redmiation, Commercial, Education & Residential. They currently turnover 18m and have ambitions over the next few years to reach 25m.My client have two offices where you will be working - London and Brighton.

Main purpose of the role is to manage the commercial resources (people and finance) of the assigned project to maximise planned gross margin through the placement and control of contracts and subcontracts. To assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implementpolicies for risk management.

To support the authorisation and submission of project variations. To authorise the placement of contracts, subcontracts, material and plant orders. To maximise cash flow through the control, measurement (including quality) and valuation of work, and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers.

Skills, attributes and Qualifications:

  1. Good supervision skills
    1. Ability to manage commercially all aspects of the project
    2. Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team
    3. Concise knowledge of construction practices and standards within their subject
    4. Good writing, analytical and problem solving skills
    5. Ability to follow oral and written instructions
    6. Ability to handle situations and problems
    7. Know when to ask for help and guidance
    8. Ability to manage time effectively & prioritise tasks effectively.
