Reed Accountancy are currently seeking an immediately available Senior Finance Assistant, to join our industry leading client's expanding team on a 3-6-month fixed term contract basis. This role will be responsible for a number of duties and requires a good understanding of Excel and Sage to be able to hit the ground running.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Compile journals for Labour Distribution, Accruals, Pre-payments, and Fixed Assets for End of Month Reports.
  • Assist the Financial Controller in producing Monthly Management Accounts.
  • Prepare, reconcile, and submit quarterly VAT and EU Sales List returns.
  • Handle submissions and information to regulatory bodies.
  • Manage timesheets, including amendments related to staff changes and new projects.
  • Assist with external payroll and improve financial and accounting systems.
  • Review and authorise bank payments prepared by other department members.
  • Cover for the Financial Controller during absences.
  • Prepare monthly invoices for clients and inter-company transactions.
  • Track payments
  • Manage bank transfers for payments outside the UK and perform bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile Visa Business Card statements against expense claims and manage card users.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A Level education or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Accounting qualification is desirable, or qualified by experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an accounts environment.
  • Essential experience with Sage 50.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of prioritizing workload to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Fluent in written and verbal English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and advanced in Excel.

The ideal candidate will need to be available immediately or at very short notice. This is a Hybrid role and our clients offices are newly refurbished, easily accessible by public transport and there is plenty of free parking.
