About the Role
We are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join their vibrant team at this great Secondary School. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality English lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4 (and possibly Key Stage 5, if applicable), helping them develop a strong command of language, literature, and critical thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver inspiring lessons in English Language and Literature, following the national curriculum.
- Assess, monitor, and support students' progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles.
- Foster a love for reading, writing, and analysis in students.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages discussion and creativity.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
- Participate in school activities, including parents' evenings, extracurricular clubs, and literacy initiatives.
Requirements
Essential:
- A degree in English, Literature, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching English at secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to engage and inspire students.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Desirable:
- Experience teaching A-Level English.
- Familiarity with modern teaching strategies and digital learning tools.
- A passion for promoting literacy and extracurricular activities such as debate clubs or creative writing.
