SEN early years Teaching Assistant

Academics is seeking a caring and patient Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Crawley. This is a fantastic opportunity to support young children with Autism, ADHD, and other special educational needs (SEN) in their early development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for children in the Early Years.

  • Assist with learning, play-based activities, and personal care as needed.

  • Support children's social, emotional, and communication development.

  • Use positive reinforcement and sensory strategies to engage learners.

  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to create a supportive environment.

Requirements
  • Experience working with young children or those with SEN (preferred but not essential).

  • A patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Full UK driving licence (school is not easily accessible by public transport).

  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
