Academics is looking for a Psychology graduate to join a specialist school in East Grinstead as an SEN Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with students with Autism, ADHD, and other special educational needs (SEN)-ideal for those considering careers in educational psychology, clinical psychology, or SEN teaching.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN.
Assist with learning activities, behaviour management, and emotional regulation.
Implement strategies to support students' social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Work alongside teachers, therapists, and SENCOs to deliver personalised support.
Requirements
Psychology degree (or related field).
Interest in child development, SEN, or mental health support.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
Full UK driving licence (school is not easily accessible by public transport).
