Academics is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker / Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a supportive school in Crawley. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with students who need additional support in their education and personal development.
Role Overview:
As a Support Worker / TA, you will provide 1:1 or small group support to students with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. Your role will involve assisting in the classroom, supporting students' emotional and social well-being, and helping them gain confidence and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support, helping students engage with learning.
Assist with classroom activities, adapting materials to meet individual needs.
Encourage students to develop communication, social, and life skills.
Implement positive behaviour strategies to create a structured and nurturing environment.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to ensure the best possible support for students.
Support students with personal care if required (training provided).
What We're Looking For:
Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (preferred but not essential).
A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (the school is not easily accessible by public transport).
Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
