Exciting Opportunity: Individual Needs Assistant for Year 1 Child with Autism – Crawley

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Individual Needs Assistant to support a wonderful Year 1 child with autism at a friendly and inclusive school in Crawley. The school embraces a nurture-focused approach, aiming to provide every child with a safe, supportive environment where they can thrive and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support for a Year 1 child with autism, both academically and emotionally.
- Work closely with the child’s teachers and SENCO to deliver tailored support plans that encourage learning and social development.
- Promote independence, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour in a calm and supportive manner.
- Foster a nurturing environment where the child feels secure, valued, and motivated to learn.
- Help create and implement sensory-friendly strategies and support during daily activities.
- Work as part of a team to ensure the child’s needs are met both inside and outside the classroom.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Previous experience supporting children with autism, preferably within a school setting.
- Commitment: A dedicated and reliable individual who is committed to making a real difference in the child’s educational journey.
- Nurturing Approach: A calm, patient, and empathetic approach, with the ability to provide consistent emotional support.
- Team Player: The ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the child’s holistic needs are met.
- Passion: A genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs and promoting their development in a nurturing environment.
