Salary:£28,000 - £35,000, based on experience.
Job Type:Full-Time, 4 day working week. Monday to Thursday, 08.30 to 18.00.

The Role
As aSemi-Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients to include sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
As the first hire for the firm, you will work closely with the Managing Director to take ownership of tasks and develop your expertise in cloud accounting, compliance, and financial advisory services.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepareyear-end accounts in line with FRS102 1A and FRS105,management accounts, andVAT returnsfor a range of clients, including SMEs and start-ups.
- Assist withcorporation tax computationsandself-assessment tax returns.
- Prepareworking papers, ensuring balance sheet accounts are reconciled and adjustments posted.
- Completebookkeeping and ad hoctasks as required.
- Assist withCIS returns, Payroll and Pension submissionswhere required.
- Work with cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Dext etc.) and assist clients with digital record-keeping.
- Provide support withclient advisory services, including cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for queries.
- Keep up to date with UK tax and accounting regulations, ensuring compliance and best practices.
What Were Looking For
- Part-qualified or newly qualified(ACA/ACCA/AAT) with 2 3 years experience in an accounting practice.
- Strong working knowledge ofUK accounting standardsandtax regulations.
- Experience withcloud-based accounting software(e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Dext) is a plus.
- Confident in preparing accounts for SMEs, freelancers, and limited companies.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a client-focused approach.
- A proactive mindset, keen to embrace new technologies, modern accounting practices and explore different ways of doing things.
- Confidence to work independently to deliver client expectations without management oversight.
- Driving licence required due to location of office.
