Procurement Specialist 

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to join their dynamic team in West Sussex.

Responsibilities

  • Source, procure, and supply diverse items and materials for the infrastructure sector, supporting UK and global clients.
  • Negotiate competitive pricing without compromising quality.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to secure and deliver quotes.
  • Provide compliant, competitive, and comprehensive proposals.
  • Understand customer needs before proceeding with orders or enquiries.
  • Manage supplier contracts to optimize cost, service, quality, and capital.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on credibility, capability, and delivery criteria.
  • Ensure sales orders are profitable and compliant.
  • Record information accurately and action tasks promptly.
  • Build a network of suppliers using in-house resources and personal contacts.
  • Maintain professional skills for continuous high-standard procurement service.
  • Support the team with expertise and undertake ad hoc tasks as required.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of the infrastructure industry and construction materials.
  • Broad mechanical and electro-mechanical understanding.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and supply chain management knowledge.
  • Organisational and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with teams and suppliers.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and international trade logistics.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • IT skills  - particularly Excel.
