This is an exciting opportunity to join our client and be part of increasing company profitability and customer satisfaction by purchasing materials in a timely manner and at the lowest cost. You will be managing a team of three Buyers, coordinating all activities related to the procurement of inventory from beginning to end. Daily duties will include:-

  • Negotiating the lowest possible cost for inventory and freight.
  • Managing inventory levels; staying within budgets and actively identifying stock outs and reducing surplus.
  • Developing strong relationships with managers, regional managers, operations managers, outside sales people and vendors to ensure proper inventory levels at all times.
  • Analyse trends in pricing and sales activity to determine correct timing of purchases.
  • Advising managers or operations managers on the appropriate suppliers to use.
  • Implementing purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations.
  • Assuring that the product is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company.
  • Maintaining accurate purchase order prices and vendor cataloguing.
  • Coordinating appropriate methods needed to distribute inventory in a cost effective manner.

The successful candidate will have previous experience within buying/procurement on an international level and managing a small team.
