Driver Hire Gatwick is recruiting for a Logistics Shipping Clerk and Warehouse Assistant on behalf of one of our client. This is the perfect opportunity for someone eager to learn, grow, and make their mark in the logistics industry. Also for this position the right candidate will be asked to start immidiatly.
Job Specification:Logistics Shipping Clerk Responsibilities:- Manage Proof of Delivery (POD) processes to ensure timely and accurate parcel delivery.
- Collaborate with clients and suppliers to keep operations running smoothly.
- Streamline shipment processes to balance cost-efficiency with excellent service.
- Regularly assess logistics practices with carriers and transport companies to secure competitive pricing and best practices.
- Handle freight movement across the company’s three warehouses.
- Maintain accurate documentation for product distribution and system records.
- Communicate with customers and suppliers to ensure seamless storage and distribution.
- Support warehouse operations, including occasional lifting duties.
- Strong written and verbal abilities are a must.
- No prior experience is required—comprehensive training is provided, including accredited BIFA International Training courses.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and email is essential. Training on in-house systems such as Metafour and SAP will be provided.
- Would need to live within 10 miles of Crawley.
- Own transportation to and from work and a valid Driving Licence ( Cat B ) with no more than 6 points
- £26,500.00 per year + yearly performance bonuses.
- Including company pension, store discounts, and free on-site parking.
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM schedule with no weekend work.
