Functional Skills Tutors Wanted !

£25k - £30k dep on experience

Location: Crawley or Cambridgeshire (Hybrid - Mix of Remote & Face-to-Face)Role Type: Permanent, Full-Time (Mon-Fri)Mileage: All travel to learners covered at 45p/mile for the first 10,000 miles then 25p thereafterBenefits:

  • Early finish Fridays at 1 pm

About the RoleJoin an award-winning, top-rated training provider as a Functional Skills Tutor! If you’re a Maths and English expert with a knack for delivering results, this role is for you. Your mission: to drive learner success by teaching, coaching, and supporting a caseload of learners, ensuring they meet all regulatory, quality, and funding standards. You’ll help our learners reach their full potential and achieve top outcomes!

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with a talented team to create and monitor individual learning plans.
  • Provide coaching, teaching, and support for Functional Skills in Maths and English.
  • Engage learners in dynamic, online group sessions via Teams.
  • Collaborate with Trainer/Coaches, field-based teams, and Area Managers to reach a 75% first-time pass rate in Level 2 Functional Skills.
  • Track learner progress, updating records to keep learner management data accurate.
  • Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessments to enhance the learner experience.
  • Attend team meetings and share best practices.

  • You’re committed to fostering a learner-centered approach, actively promoting equality, diversity, and a 'can-do’ culture.
  • Skilled in time management, multi-tasking, and working well under pressure.
  • A pro at creating and delivering engaging Maths and English lessons.
  • Confident using IT and knowledgeable about the apprenticeship framework.
