We have been engaged by a loyal, highly regarded company that are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to ensure the smooth running of the accounting functions. This role involves maintaining effective filing and record-keeping systems, ensuring records are up-to-date, and managing various financial and secretarial duties to support the company's statutory requirements and strategic financial planning.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Maintain and reconcile records for all company bank accounts as required.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and collaborate with the Managing Director to prepare annual financial and capex budgets.
  • Manage company secretary duties and oversee the company’s utilities, insurance cover, and R&D tax reporting.
  • Prepare cash flow summaries, advising on financial constraints that may affect company performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases and manage monthly and salaries payroll, ensuring timely payments to HMRC.
  • Develop systems and procedures to improve operational quality and efficiency in the finance department.
  • Manage staff scheduling, including assignments, training, and shift rotations.
  • Ensure compliance with financial legislation, employment, and health and safety laws.
  • Foster a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices and encourages individual integrity and social responsibility.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and participate in quality audits.
  • Administer the company’s various benefit schemes such as healthcare/dental and death in service schemes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with over 3 years of experience in a senior finance role.
  • Strong understanding of UK financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in SAP accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Proven experience in financial planning and cost control, with in-depth knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of secretarial practices as this role requires duties as the Company Secretary.
