Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Location: Crediton

Pay rate: 12.50 per hour

Hours: 20 hours per week (Flexible over 3 days Monday - Friday)

Duration: Ongoing Temporary with potential to lead to permanent

Are you experienced at bank reconciliations and purchase ledgers with a strong background in SAGE 50. We are proud to be working with a local construction industry client who are looking for an experienced and confident Accounts Assistant to join their small but busy team. This role is perfect for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Your Duties:

Manage sales and purchase ledger using Sage 50.

Perform bank reconciliations and process VAT returns.

Handle bank payments and general administrative tasks.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports.

Reconcile account statements and resolve any discrepancies.

Communicate with suppliers and customers regarding account queries.

Perform data entry and maintain organised filing systems.

Basic knowledge of Excel spreadsheets is advantageous.

Availability to work additional hours to cover staff holidays or sickness is desirable.

Essential Skills:

Proven experience using SAGE 50 software.

Previous experience more important than formal qualifications.

Must be capable of working unsupervised.

Strong demonstrated experience working in finance or accounts.

Good I.T skills

Excellent written and verbal communication

General administrative experience.

Hardworking, reliable, confident and down-to-earth.
