Financial Accountant

Salary: Up to £50,000 (DOE)

Location: Crewe

Duration: Permanent, full time

Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit a Financial Accountant for a successful Engineering Services business based in Crewe. The business is PE backed with an ambition for growth through organic and acquisitional means, with an exciting opportunity arising within the finance team.

Within this role you will be working closely with the Finance Manager and will be responsible for all aspects of Financial Accounting, reporting and control to ensure the business is operating efficiently. This Financial Accountant role will be responsible for the whole payroll collation, Budgeting & Forecasting and liaising with external auditors. This role would be perfect for someone who is working through their professional qualifications and is looking to develop both personally and professionally.

Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant

  • Oversee cash management, including weekly cashflow forecasts
  • Assist and support in the preparation of financial forecast and business plans
  • Lead the financial accounting and reporting to group on a monthly basis and stat accounts at year end
  • Manage all aspects of fixed assets, ensuring compliance with CAPEX and the fixed asset register
  • Responsible for managing the accurate collation of payroll data for submission to the payroll bureau
  • Liaise with internal & external auditors to ensure all relevant and necessary information is provided

Required skills and experience of the Financial Accountant

  • Part-Qualified or QBE (preferably CIMA OR ACCA)
  • Previous experience working in a similar role with exposure to payroll
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong written, verbal and communication skills
  • Excellent IT Skills (Word, Powerpoint, Excel) and a knowledge of SAP Accounting software (desirable)
