Otto James Consulting has been engaged in a Search and Selection Process for a new Group Financial Controller position at the head of an exciting, dynamic, expanding and fresh Tech Organisation.Our partner relocated to the Cheshire in 2021 and have quickly achieved the market growth they had forecast. With 2025 divisional revenues projected at £53mil and with 2025 orders already written, we are looking at achieving our next tranche of growth through external investment, and therefore, have business critical need for an exciting Finance Director to join the board.The HealthTech market is wide open to growth, and our client is looking to use their expertise in this market and add to the foothold they have already achieved in this arena. This role is integral to the boards growth plans, and the landscape for H1 2025 will sit firmly in the blueprint of this role.The Role  As the new Group Financial Controller, the successful talent, must carry their dynamism and commercial knowledge into the day to day running of a high achieving finance function. With the growth in the organisation, the current framework and infrastructure, albeit effective at the moment, will need modernisation moving forward. This modernisation will be through hiring in new talent, while also looking at technological investments in your team  Key Aspects Within the Role -
  • Manage the monthly reporting and deliver the Europe Corporate financial results in accordance with the group timetable
  • Management of the European Corporate Finance team based in Crewe with focus on development, performance and efficiency.
  • Establishes and implements financial process and supports a culture of continuous improvements.
  • Lead the annual audit process for all corporate entities and ensure all implemented controls and processes adhere to appropriate accounting principles, including owning the relationship with external auditors.
  • Timely preparation of required statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Management of applicable tax filings
  • Establishes policies and procedures in conjunction with the Senior Corporate Finance Director.
  • Working capital management and forecasting (capital calls and income distributions).
  • Assistance with financial system integrations and planning.
  • Monitor and document internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Prepare technical accounting papers for corporate transactions and new reporting standards
  • Ad-hoc requests from investors and stakeholders.
The Person
  • Stepping up to a role which will be career defining
  • Take the lead on organisational commercial strategy 
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), ideally with experience in a high growth company
  • Experience of managing teams, as working with non-finance and operational managers
  • Although not essential, experience in a PE/VC backed environment helpful
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, organized and attentive to detail
  • Extremely organised and deadline driven, embrace control and detail focussed
  • Enthusiastic with a proactive personality and 'can do' approach
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
