Lead Auditor - Permanent

Up to 45,000pa - Crewe

We are supporting a fantastic growing business based in Crewe looking for an experienced Audit Leader to join their team on a full-time basis.

As a successful candidate you will have a good auditing background with other accounting experience in financial reporting. You will take a pivotal role in the audit of clients and also provide financial insights, prepare complex accounts, and assist in the mentoring and development of our expanding audit and assurance team.

Salary is dependent on experience but ranging up to 45,000pa and has flexible hybrid working.

Responsibilities as a Lead Auditor:

  • Planning and executing audits for a varied client portfolio, ensuring compliance with UK auditing standards.
  • Conducting risk assessments and evaluating internal controls.
  • Keep up to date with changes in audit regulations and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP, or other relevant accounting standards.
  • Keep up to date with changes in accounting standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Prepare and review corporate tax computations for clients.
  • Supervise and mentor junior members of the audit and assurance team to support their development and technical guidance to improve team performance.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and systems to enhance the efficiency of our audits and overall client service.

Requirements of the role:

  • ACCA (or equivalent) qualified. Qualified by experience candidates will also be consider.
  • Extensive experience in an accountancy practice.
  • Strong knowledge of auditing and accounting standards.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior auditors.
