Overview

Compass Associates are proud to be working in partnership with an new provider within Children’s Residential care, who offer support to children with emotional behavioural difficulties, to recruit for a Registered Manager to oversee their children’s Residential service based in Chorlton, Greater Manchester. The 2-bedded service supports children with EBD and my client is happy to speak with experienced Deputy Managers who are keen to take the next step in their career or experienced Registered Managers looking for a new challenge.

The Candidate

As the Registered Manager you will have overall responsibility of the day-to-day operations of the service, including the leadership and management of the staff team and continuous collaboration with the company’s quality team. You will be overseeing the efficient delivery and development of the service whilst working closely alongside the Responsible Individual, where together you will ensure the children receive the best care. You will possess a deep working knowledge of health and social care, particularly in relation to Ofsted rules and regulations. Moreover, they will also require strong people management and communication skills, as well as sound commercial understanding.

Essential Criteria

  • NVQ 3 Level 3 Diploma (QCF) qualified in Children and Young People’s workforce (or equivalent)
  • NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management in residential childcare (or equivalent) - If not already completed, must be willing to complete.
  • Within the last 5 years, worked for at least 2 years in a position relevant to the residential care of children.
  • 1 years’ experience in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a care role.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted standards
  • Strong people management skills, communicator, team player

Location

This role is based in Chorlton and is commutable from Sale, Trafford, Manchester City Centre, Stockport, Altrincham, Ashton-under-Lyne and Worsley.

Interview Process

The interview process involves an initial conversation with the Responsible Individual, then a second formal interview with one of the Company Directors and the Responsible Individual.
