WRG are excited to be once again supporting a leading provider of logistics and supply chain solutions. Our client is dedicated to delivering excellence in service and safety across their sites across the Midlands. They are looking to appoint a proactive and dedicatedHealth & Safety Coordinatorto join an established team (currently 5 members) and help ensure a safe working environment for employees across a 50 acre warehousing and distribution site based close to Crewe.
As a Health & Safety Coordinator, you will work closely with an experienced team of safety professionals to support them with various risk, safety and compliance duties and ensure best practices to minimise dangers across their distribution network.
The role would suit a young and ambitious and tech savvy professional who is looking to begin a career in H&S, our client would offer training and a H&S apprenticeship to ensure that you develop and progress within the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support in the development, implementation, and monitoring of health and safety policies and procedures in line with current legislation and industry best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to management and staff on all health and safety matters.
- Deliver health and safety training sessions to employees and ensure safety inductions for new staff and contractors.
- Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities, including risk assessments, audits, and incident reports.
- Work closely with management to promote a safety-first culture and improve health and safety performance across the business.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, legal changes, and developments in health and safety practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience in an administration or document controller role - ideally within the logistics, warehousing, or distribution sectors (desirable but not essential).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Familiar with Microsoft packages e.g Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
- Ability to handle challenging situations and make decisions under pressure.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
