A UK leading packaging manufacturer has a rare opportunity for a Technical Training Manager to join the business. The position has become available due to the current Training Manager retiring from the business. This is a rare opportunity to join a global manufacturing business where they truly invest in their workforce and offer incredible career prospects. They are offering a salary package circa to £50k with 10% Bonus and a company car scheme which offers a lease vehicle of £675 in value per month, a private company pension scheme and healthcare plan.

Summary of role for the Technical Training Manager:

The Technical Training Manager will build and continually improve a systemic training mechanism (which would include a highly detailed skills matrix) to ensure all colleagues meet the minimum required technical / specific skills required for their role. Lead the industrial and technical training operations of both new and long-term employees in all UK locations to ensure competency and compliance are achieved and maintained within their UK Manufacturing Plants. To provide guidance on systematic training according to the needs of operations (incl. skills assessments and training matrix).

  • Coordinate the requirements of existing and new training and development programs
  • Coordinate the development of new training materials together with technical experts and local trainers from the plants
  • Deploy and support standard approach to training within the shopfloor.

Requirements of the Technical Training Manager:

  • Highly experienced Technical Training Manager in delivering training programs from the manufacturing sector, packaging preferred but not essential.
  • Experienced in various forms and methods of knowledge transfer, especially blended learning
  • Strong planning, organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage changing priorities
  • Understanding of Apprenticeship programs and experience of working with Apprentice Levy
  • Handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and adapt to a changing business environment
  • Some training in Time in Motion would offer a distinct advantage.
  • Flexible in travel to 4 different locations within the UK
  • Experienced in using Learning Management Systems
  • Full clean driving license
