Electrical Engineer - Head Up Displays required to join a luxury and performance automotive manufacturer on a contracting basis.

Our client is a British icon with a heritage spanning over 100 years, renowned for designing and handcrafting some of the world's most exquisite vehicles using the craftsmanship of exceptional people and the finest materials.

As the Electrical Engineer - Head Up Displays, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of head up displays, managing projects from early concepts to final production, and ensuring successful integration with other vehicle systems.

Electrical Engineer - Head Up Displays Key Duties:

  • Responsible for the electrical and electronic work related to head up displays, specifically for the single part in front of the driver on the dashboard/window mounted to the cross-bar.
  • Acting as the ECU Owner and diagnostic owner, releasing software and managing hardware/software versions.
  • Planning builds and utilizing build tools to support development activities.
  • Using diagnostic tools, including Vector tools and preferred VW group tools such as ODOS/IDEX.
  • Project managing the work and workload, ensuring successful collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Finding answers and solutions to problems, owning the project end-to-end, and supporting the concepts team in producing and developing the product.
  • Investigating and problem-solving issues, particularly why certain aspects aren't working, and collating findings.
  • Cross-functional working, particularly with function owners and system engineering teams to display other teams' functions.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Head up display experience/background.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and Vector tools.
  • Project management experience, with the ability to manage work and workload effectively.
  • Experience working with suppliers and internal teams, particularly in early concept stages.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate issues thoroughly.
  • Experience owning a project from start to finish, supporting the concepts team through development milestones.
  • Experience with system engineering, particularly owning a part that displays other teams' functions.
  • Knowledge of regulations related to automotive engineering.
  • Experience in developing an ECU, understanding the development process, and integrating parts into a car.

Other Requirements:

  • Travel involved globally.
  • A driving license is required.
  • Experience driving prototype vehicles.
