Job Title: Engineering Inventory and Compliance Specialist
Location: Crewe / Nantwich

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Office Hours

Contract with a view to be Permanent 

The Role:
As an Engineering Inventory and Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering the group's engineering inventory processes and ensuring compliance with food safety and engineering standards. Working under the guidance of the UK Stores Manager, you will play a vital role in managing inventory, supporting audits, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and implement the engineering inventory strategy.
  • Support the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) process and provide data for procurement teams.
  • Manage digital processes, ensuring secure and efficient handling of confidential information.
  • Construct and maintain detailed reports for internal reviews, audits, and regulatory bodies.
  • Organise logistics and procurement of component parts for processing and packaging assets.
  • Audit and ensure up-to-date engineering documentation.
  • Manage responses to reactive maintenance requests, identifying and implementing corrective actions.
  • Support the selection and performance review of external suppliers.
  • Contribute to technical performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications:

Mandatory:

  • Functional Skills in Maths and English (Level 2 or equivalent, achieved within 24 months).
  • Food Safety Qualification (Level 2, achieved within 12 months).
  • Engineering qualification (Level 2 or above).
  • Supplementary engineering certifications such as SEMA.

Skills and Knowledge:

Essential Skills:

  • Application of Safety, Health, and Environmental legislation and procedures.
  • Proficiency in IT systems and CMMS.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Planning, reporting, and decision-making skills.
  • Budget management and spare parts inventory management.
  • Hygienic engineering practices.

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of Safety, Health, and Environmental standards.
  • FMCG experience (minimum 1 year).
  • Familiarity with BS 5454:2000 (achieved within 12 months).
  • Engineering maintenance strategies (preferred).

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be UK mobile and hold a valid driving license.

Performance Expectations:

  • Maintain an excellent Health & Safety record.
  • Accurately log and manage engineering inventory.
  • Ensure maintenance documentation and diagnostic instructions are accessible and up-to-date.
  • Deliver projects within scope, time, and budget constraints.
  • Proactively seek solutions and develop skills to enhance performance.
