Chief Finance Officer | Crewe | On-site | Upto £104,100

Ashley Kate are excited to be working with an established group in the public sector who are looking for an accomplished and experienced Chief Finance Officer to take over the strategic running of the finance and estates functions. This Chief Finance Officer vacancy will favour those with prior experience in the public sector who are full members of any of the major accountancy bodies.

This role is responsible for a £200 million budget, and will lead all aspects of revenue, budget and financial reporting, as well as formulating and implementing the financial strategies and projects to utilise budgets and funding efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, direct and control all aspects of revenue and capital budgeting, budget monitoring and reporting, ensuring effective preparation of statutory accounts and financial statements in accordance with accounting standards
  • Formulating and implementing financial strategies to meet strategic objectives.
  • Lead the production of the annual budget process in consultation with other budget managers.
  • Effective leading of the Estates Department.
  • Develop and implement financial projects, ensuring budget implications are addressed.
  • Manage and develop the staff within the finance team.

About you:

  • CCAB member (ideally CIPFA).
  • Demonstrable experience with financial management at a senior accounting role.
  • Demonstrable experience at a strategic level across audit and finance functions.
  • Strong level of IT literacy.
  • Prior experience with management, coaching and training.
  • Prior experience in a similar role in the public sector (desirable).
