Finance Manager (Children and Schools) - Local Authority

Are you an experienced Finance Manager with a passion for supporting children and schools? We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Local Authority as a Finance Manager within the Children and Schools division. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on services that support children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert financial advice to service directors and elected members.
  • Manage and lead a team to deliver financial support across the Children and Families Directorate, including Children's Social Care and Home to School Transport.
  • Oversee the accounting arrangements for the Dedicated Schools Grant.
  • Be part of the Finance Leadership Team responsible for managing the overall finance service within the authority.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong experience in financial management, particularly in the public sector or related areas.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • In-depth understanding of financial regulations and procedures related to children's services.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with senior stakeholders and elected members.
