Job Purpose

A motivated and passionate Fundraising and Income Generation Officer is needed to play a key role in contributing to the charity's income generation efforts. This position will focus on driving corporate sponsorship, fundraising events, small grants, digital fundraising, and individual giving. The role is pivotal in increasing supporter contacts and building relationships to further the charity's mission and community impact.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Contribution

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the charity's Fundraising Strategy, working towards agreed targets.
  • Provide innovative and creative ideas for new fundraising streams to enhance income generation.
  • Regularly report progress to the Head of Fundraising and Governance against agreed targets and key achievements.

Volunteer and Event Management

  • Organise, supervise, and support fundraising volunteers, ensuring their contributions are fully utilised for maximum benefit.
  • Plan, co-ordinate, and execute fundraising events and challenges throughout the year, ensuring their success and impact.

Donor Relations & Corporate Engagement

  • Build and nurture relationships with community groups leveraging both current and new contacts to raise the charity's profile and secure donations (financial and in-kind)
  • Develop and steward corporate relationships, focusing on both financial and in-kind support through donor funnels to maximise retention and engagement.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for individual giving through seasonal campaigns and national schemes (e.g., Room Sponsor scheme).

Database Management & Reporting

  • Maintain and update a supporter database to ensure accurate record keeping and maximise supporter contact.
  • Submit timely Gift Aid claims and ensure compliance with all fundraising regulations.
  • Monitor and manage online fundraising platforms, such as Just Giving, ensuring campaigns are maximised.

Grant Writing & New Initiatives

  • Write and submit compelling grant applications to secure funding for the charity's initiatives.
  • Explore and pilot new fundraising schemes such as "Friends Of" and a Corporate Network to diversify income streams.

Collaboration & Legal Compliance

  • Work closely with the Fundraising and Communications Team to contribute ideas and coordinate fundraising activities to raise funds and increase the public profile of the charity.
  • Ensure all fundraising activities are compliant with legal guidelines and good practice standards.
  • Represent the charity's values and uphold its reputation in all fundraising activities.

Networking & Promotion

  • Attend business expos, networking events, and fundraising activities to promote the charity, run campaigns, and secure new individual givers.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in fundraising, income generation, or related areas, ideally within a charity or nonprofit environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in event planning and volunteer management.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and targets.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of fundraising regulations, legal requirements, and best practices.
  • Experience using donor databases and online fundraising platforms is desirable.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on driving results.
