Your job

Provide a professional HR service to managers, employees, schools and support senior HR staff to implement local HR delivery plans and translate business needs into people solutions to drive continuous improvement and ensure that the people needs of the Council and Schools are met.

In this job you will

  1. Support all aspects of the delivery of the Workforce Strategy to ensure effective recruitment, resourcing and retention throughout Schools and the Council.
  2. Undertake all aspects of HR casework, including attending hearings (discipline, grievance, capability, etc) to advise managers and others to ensure good practice, legal requirements are met, and employees are managed in a fair and consistent way.
  3. Deliver the full range of specialist HR support to Schools and Services on all HR matters (including recruitment and selection, attendance management, redeployment, TUPE, dignity at work etc) so that policies and practices are implemented consistently.
  4. Provide professional advice to Schools and Services on all aspects of HR and the interpretation of policies, procedures, processes and practice, including terms of conditions of service, to ensure business needs are met and employees are managed in a fair and consistent way
  5. Provide practical and operational contribution to draft policies/procedures/processes to ensure that employees are managed in accordance with the latest legislation and good practice guidelines and contribute to the communication of such changes throughout Schools and the Council.
