Software Integration Manager

Duration: 9 Months (Possibility for extension)

Location: Crewe (2-3 days per week on site)

Rate: A highly competitive rate is available for suitable candidates

Main Goals and Objectives

  • Responsible for the determination, control and optimisation of the overall level of maturity regarding Software related functions and components in vehicle projects.
  • Provides technical strategic leadership, in depth technical knowledge and guidance of all dependant functions regarding maturity planning, integration management, configuration management, change and release management.
  • Supports and ensures achievement of business objectives and technical development when it comes to the Integration management of a certain vehicle project, delivering on time and within budget.
  • Concept definition of the Software related functional scopes for new vehicle projects and platforms, taking into account the technical feasibility, cost aspects and market requirements.
  • Consolidation of errors and deviations compared to target state across all sensors on the basis of comprehensive defect management for the assigned vehicle projects.
  • Configuration and Release of the entire Software Verbund for use in R&D (pre series), in production and in after sales.
  • Permanent optimisation and improvement of all relevant sub-processes, methods and tools.
  • Leads engagement with all appropriate Group Committees for Software Integration Management and Software readiness.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ability to demonstrate deliverable status at any time with Key Performance Indicators.
  • Manage workload on a daily basis and respond to both long term and short-term task requests.
  • Responsible for leading prompt concern resolution on existing processes, the coordination of resource, and ability to provide containment solutions when necessary.
  • Manage any outsourced work in the same technical area, including supplier management.
  • Manage budgetary requirements to meet KPI objectives.
  • Propose process and method improvements to develop departmental capability.
  • Ability to lead on technical direction working with other departments/Engineers.
  • Provide technical direction to other feature owners.
  • Provide technical input into concepts for future development.
  • Committed to own continuous professional development.
  • Demonstrate a broad awareness of process and operational requirements within the area.
  • Responsible to the delivery of attribute targets
  • Support and provide technical knowledge in relation to product planning.
  • Advise management of strategic opportunities in areas of technical expertise.
  • Develop and gain agreement for the strategic technical direction/Technical Roadmaps within specialist area.
  • Keep up to date with industry innovations and relevant Group technical roadmap deployment.
  • Responsibility to ensure factual and effective communication is provided at all levels, including within all cross-functional working teams.
  • Participation and effective representation of function/Company in appropriate technical meetings.
  • Responsible for the collation and presentation of relevant data in order to consult and lead functional /cross-functional meetings.
  • Transparent issue escalation to senior management, accountable for identifying and escalating issues and risks to senior management
  • Develop relationships with counterparts in appropriate internal functions and organisations and provide relevant guidance to suppliers.
  • Make recommendations and effective presentations to the business in area of technical specialism, with the ability to explain and break down technical detail/direction.

Skills and experience:

  • Appropriate experience working in the Automotive Industry or related industries.
  • Experience of process from launch to production.
  • Strong influencing skills and communication, with a commitment to building positive relationships with other functions, and Group as an outward facing expert.
  • Ability to share technical knowledge effectively with others, coach and guide as appropriate.
  • Demonstrable experience of process improvement activities within the specific technology.
  • Good business awareness and ability to make and influence strategic decisions within business context.
  • Understanding and ability to demonstrate behaviours in line with the People Framework.
