Job Title: Technical PMO ManagerReports To: Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO)Salary: £55,000 to £60,000 (plus car)  Purpose of RoleThe Technical PMO Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight and management of the Project Management Office (PMO) with a focus on technical projects. This role ensures the successful delivery of key IT initiatives by implementing best practices, optimising resource allocation, and maintaining alignment with business objectives.   Brief overview of responsibilities (get in touch for more detailed information)
  • Develop and maintain the IT project portfolio, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s strategic goals and technical requirements
  • Provide regular portfolio status updates to senior management and stakeholders
  • Establish and enforce project management standards, methodologies, and best practices (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, PRINCE2) tailored to technical projects
  • Develop and maintain PMO policies, procedures, and templates to ensure consistency and quality across technical projects
  • Allocate technical resources effectively across projects, ensuring optimal utilisation and balancing workloads
  • Monitor resource capacity and demand, adjusting as necessary to meet project needs
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with technical projects, ensuring proactive issue resolution
  • Develop and maintain a risk management framework, including risk registers and mitigation plans
  • Track and report on project performance metrics, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide real-time visibility into project status
  • Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with business leaders and project managers to ensure stakeholder needs are met and expectations are managed
  • Facilitate regular communication and reporting to stakeholders, including status updates, risk assessments, and performance metrics
  • Drive improvements in project management processes, tools, and techniques to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Lead initiatives to enhance project management maturity within the organisation
  • Provide training and support to project managers and teams, fostering a culture of excellence in project management
  • Develop and deliver training programs on project management methodologies, tools, and best practices
  Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Project Management, or relevant experience
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) are highly desirable
