Manufacturing Feasibility Engineer - Automotive Industry

Our client, a leading player in the automotive industry, is looking for a Manufacturing Feasibility Engineer to join their Launch Quality Centre. This is a temporary contract for 3 months, offering full-time work and the opportunity for hybrid working.

As a Manufacturing Feasibility Engineer, you will play a vital role in evaluating manufacturing feasibility in line with business processes. You will analyse final assembly feasibility on future programmes, identifying and resolving manufacturing feasibility concerns. Your expertise will support design for manufacture best practises, assembly time targets, and production quality targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review style and design to identify and resolve manufacturing feasibility concerns
  • Conduct analysis of part design through virtual and physical studies
  • Analyse dimensional management outputs and develop assembly strategies
  • Support virtual build reviews and design and manufacturing feasibility reviews
  • Manage KPIs and support complex problem investigation and resolution
  • Collaborate with other suppliers to define key measurements and influence changes
  • Clearly define and document concerns/issues through the business process
  • Validate assembly feasibility using reference properties
  • Act as a knowledge holder for part design, manufacture, and assembly within the vehicle zone/module
  • Identify and develop best practise principles through benchmarking and research
  • Contribute to the introduction of new technology and techniques

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Automotive industry experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong working knowledge of component design, manufacture, and assembly processes/techniques
  • Familiarity with design for assembly principles and lean manufacturing techniques
  • Logical and structured approach to problem-solving
  • Appreciation of CATIA V5 and virtual build tools
  • Understanding of measurement techniques and dimensional management analysis
  • HNC/Degree qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • German speaking skills (preferable)
  • Membership in a related professional institute (preferable)
