Join our team as a Senior Technical Manager, where you will lead and oversee technical operations within our flexible packaging division. This role is pivotal in driving technical excellence, innovation, and compliance across all aspects of our flexible packaging production.
Day-to-day of the role:- Lead the resolution of complex technical issues and queries specific to flexible packaging.
- Oversee and evaluate factory trials, including those for customers, supplier-led developments, or process improvements, ensuring all activities comply with our Quality Management System (QMS).
- Maintain and enhance data sheets, Statements of Compliance (SoC's), and customer specifications using detailed supplier information and regular migration testing.
- Ensure strict compliance with Food Contact regulations and lead initiatives to exceed standard industry practices.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to investigate and resolve quality-related incidents, setting high standards for operational excellence.
- Support the Compliance Officer in upholding and surpassing the BRC standard, focusing on continuous improvement.
- Manage and optimize the use of laboratory equipment to analyze competitor materials and develop superior internal technical specifications.
- Conduct strategic meetings with existing and new suppliers to ensure our flexible packaging division remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
- Adapt to the dynamic needs of the business, taking on additional responsibilities as needed to support the growth and development of the flexible packaging sector.
- Extensive experience in a senior technical role within the flexible packaging industry.
- In-depth knowledge of BRC standards and other relevant food safety and quality regulations applicable to flexible packaging.
- Advanced analytical skills with a proven track record of leveraging laboratory equipment for material analysis and product development.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively negotiate with suppliers and lead cross-functional teams.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
