Job Description:

Our client are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Site Manager to oversee fit-out projects for a car showroom in Crewe, ranging from minor works up to major 1m fit-out projects. This predominantly site-based role requires excellent communication and organisational skills, a proactive attitude, and a deep knowledge of fit-out materials and processes.

As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the car showroom fit-out projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The role involves liaising with clients, managing site activities, and coordinating with internal teams to deliver successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all site-based activities for car showroom fit-out projects, ensuring work is completed to specification, on time, and within budget.
  • Liaise with clients effectively, managing expectations and providing updates on project progress.
  • Conduct weekly toolbox talks, ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to.
  • Complete PUWER and LOLER inspections and ensure all required documentation is maintained (e.g., timesheets).
  • Carry out take-offs and order materials and plant in coordination with the buying team.
  • Organise and manage in-house labour, ensuring adequate resources are available for all project stages.
  • Manage the scoping and pricing of minor works (up to 20k), using simple internal workbooks.
  • Ensure quality control and compliance with company standards, specifications, and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including emails, reports, and schedules (using Excel, Word, and project management software).
  • Demonstrate a 'can do' attitude and proactively address any challenges that arise on site.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing fit-out projects, specifically within the car showroom or retail sector, from minor works to large-scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of materials, processes, and regulations within the fit-out industry.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and the team.
  • Ability to manage and organise labour and resources efficiently.
  • Proficient in IT, including email, Excel, Word, and project management software.
  • Ability to carry out project scoping and pricing for minor works.
  • CSCS Black Card (preferred).
  • NVQ Level 6 (preferred).
  • Health and Safety awareness, with the ability to conduct and deliver toolbox talks.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Additional Information:

  • The role is predominantly based in Crewe, with occasional travel to sites in Wrexham and Telford.
  • The role is initially a temporary position for 3 months, with the opportunity to go permanent.
