Position: Automotive Technical AuthorContract Type: Temporary Location: Crewe - Fully OnsiteEnd Date: 31st March 2025

As an Automotive Technical Author, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our global dealer network receives timely and accurate service technical information. Your contributions will directly support approximately 180 dealers in maintaining and repairing our prestigious products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and Maintain Technical Documentation: Develop detailed workshop procedures and Service Technical Product Information (TPI's) to support the service lifecycle of our vehicles.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality Teams: Utilise insights from these departments to ensure all documentation is up-to-date and reflects the highest quality standards.
  • Ensure Compliance and Safety: Detail all necessary warnings and cautions to protect dealer technicians and vehicle customers alike.
  • Interface with Key Stakeholders: Occasionally, you may deputise for the Dealer Support Manager, liaising with engineering functions and the field quality department.

What We're Looking For:

  • Technical Expertise: Previous experience as an automotive technician or a time-served Craft Apprentice in automotive engineering is essential.
  • Writing Skills: You should possess the ability to produce clear and unambiguous written instructions in English.
  • Computer Literacy: Familiarity with data retrieval from computer systems is a must.
  • Knowledge of Vehicle Systems: A solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and digital vehicle systems and their interactions will set you apart.
