Connected Car Engineer - Swarm, Navigation, and Infotainment

Role Overview:

A prestigious luxury automotive manufacturer is seeking a highly motivated Connected Car Feature Engineer to join the Connected Car team. In this role, you will manage the integration, testing, and deployment of Connected Services, with a focus on Swarm, Navigation, and Infotainment features for future vehicle projects. You will be responsible for ensuring these services are seamlessly integrated into Model Year vehicles, from specification through to launch, while resolving any technical issues that arise.

You will play a key role in the end-to-end management of both new and existing connected services, delivering premium experiences for drivers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Service Introduction (40%): Lead the coordination, specification, integration, and testing of new connected services.
  • Existing Service Support (40%): Resolve technical issues related to existing services found during development or field testing.
  • Model Year Deployment (20%): Support integration, deployment, and testing of Swarm, Navigation, and Infotainment services in new ICE vehicles.

Key Services Within Scope:

  • Navigation & Swarm: Road signs, Traffic info, Traffic light data, Local hazard alerts, and more.
  • Infotainment: Calendar, Google POI search, Web apps (disclaimer, license terms), and online services like POI Aggregator.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Essential:
    • Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and MS Office.
    • Strong planning, prioritisation, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and engage multiple stakeholders.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience with automotive-connected services, testing methods, and diagnostic tools.
    • Knowledge of automotive electrical and back-end systems.
    • Experience with engineering facilities and equipment.
